Gomez's acting journey began on the popular children's television series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). In her teens, she became famous in the role of Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez is also part of the television series Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she will appear on The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's films from 2012 until 2022.
