Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family children that would be raised in the same household, figured out very early on how to conquer of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly imaginative imagination. Before she learned to read and write Dolly Parton was composing her own music. Once she had her first instrument at age of 8, she began to play on local radio stations from Knoxville in Tennessee. The same year she released her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. In high school she made herself known to the school community but her goals were bigger. The singer moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host in the late '60s, was looking for a girl to sing for his program. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She took on the role in 1967. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974 after her own songs such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Be Loved by You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the top of the. #1 spot following their separated. In 1974, the song by Parton I Will Always Love You climbed to No.
