Lucy Liu, an American voice actress producer director and singer is also an outstanding actress. She is a beautiful and knowledgeable actress she serves as an inspiration for numerous Asian actors who aspire to become famous in Hollywood. Following a string of early appearances in some popular series her fame was boosted when she joined the team of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. Her new-found fame was translated into roles on the big screen, in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and several other films. Then, she gave an a stunning role in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese criminal O Ren Ishii. Around the same time she was also in the lead role in a few box office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated movies such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell as well as others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen characters, failed to achieve much success. Southland's critically-acclaimed police drama, Southland and a recurring role helped Liu re-establish the status of an established actress. Liu selects her roles with care so as to avoid being cast in an industry that is competitive. She's accepted her Chinese roots however she has not let them limit her artistically.
